plaster and paint

I'd love to say that I plastered these little guys myself.  But I didn't.  I took the easy route and purchased some cute plaster train cars for Squishy's birthday.  Then I had a little fun and took some before pictures with my camera.

Here is a picture taken with the 18mm-55mm kit lens

and here is a 50mm lens I purchased seperately

You can really tell the difference!  Just in case it's not obvious I am having so much fun with this camera - I love it.

Back to the trains...I painted them with craft paint (you know the cheap kind you can buy at Joanns) and then finished off with a coat of modge podge for a little shine (I love that stuff)

cute little train for a cute little kid.

I made him some embroidered "quote" pillows too, an idea I got from the Autumn Online Craft Class by the RVA girls...I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

  1. These are making me so amazingly happy right now! I love them! Great photos of them, too!

  2. I hope you had a wonderful holiday and are getting off to a great start to the new year. I wanted to thank you for entering my Sew Mama Sew Giveaway. I know that that was a busy week for everyone trying to enter all of the contests and it was hard to actually take the time to get a good look at the blogs. So I would like to invite you back to one or both of my blogs to look around and see if one of them is a place that you would like to come back and visit again. If so, please consider putting me on your blog list so you will know when I post. My sewing blog is and my art blog is I would also like to remind you that my 9 year old daughter has her own sewing blog. You can visit her at
